• Polish Geographical Codes - this site gives an extensive list of Polish towns and villages arranged by province. It should give you an idea as to whether or not the name you're looking for is in present-day Poland and/or it's approximate location.

• Polish Geneaological Society of California - one of many regional groups offering maps both current and historic.
• Discovering Roots Society Poznan - an enterprising group of young people offers to assist you in your search for roots, particularly in the Poznan region.
